Elect for Good Health!

Why is this post different?
Because I will touch upon two topics that I rarely discuss; religion and politics.

The month of October presented itself with a time for soul searching and reflection. While doing so, two messages resonated with me. The first was in regards to repairing the world. “We are not to do all the work, nor are we exempt from doing our fair share.” And the second represented our humanity. “We are not perfect”.

Given the political choices available to us during the current election period; many people feel there are no good options.

How does this transmit to our health?

We are presented with difficult political choices every day which affects our health.
What do I mean by this? Here are two examples:

Food Choices – The food we purchase, put on our plate, or order in a restaurant; in other words, our diet and lifestyle plays a huge part in our health. Chemicals in and processing of our foods affect our bodies and therefore our health in many ways. Food companies are interested in making profits, but they may not completely understand how these products affect our bodies and therefore our health. Health coaches play an important role in helping you make better choices.

Health Care Choices – There is still so much unknown information. Answers to questions about our health can also be variable. Having a positive connection with health care professionals can improve our health. Health coaches can help you ask your doctor the right questions so that you can work smarter with her to find the right solutions to your health issues.

Sometimes we need to think out of the box. Doing so can lead to actions which improve our health!

We cannot change the politics in our culture, but we can make better choices and the choices we make are a vote for our health.
The food community and medical community can get inundated with politics too!

In a sense, health coaches can help you think through different options so that your choices are presented in a non-biased manner. Your personal health goals can be better recognized and achieved with multiple perspectives. Only you can benefit from getting more help, so it’s important to be your own advocate!

I cannot advise which political candidate is the lesser of two evils, but I can help you advocate for and be an independent leader in helping you advocate for your own health!
